Red Light For Parents

The event RED LIGHT FOR PARENTS will be the closing event of three days of Road Safety educational activities that will include more than 1 000 young people, their teachers and parents.
The main purpose of the workshop is to empower adults to start thinking about their beliefs and bad practices as a road user so they can become good role models for children and youngsters.
In approximately one hour (45-90 min), our moderators will present the most critical road safety issues to parents. The issues of drunk driving, seat-belt and child-restraint use, helmet use, reaction time and stopping distance are tackled through discussion and critical evaluation as well as through presentation of real life stories of road victims. For the last 15 minutes the group will be joined by bereaved parents, whose eight-year-old daughter was hit by a car near their home.
